Before I jump in and convince you that a rainy day session can lead to THE COOLEST photos, let me tell you what it will take: a c c e p t a n c e.
Meet Carly + David, the most flexible, easy-going, and trusting couple that ever was. Living in Orlando, they were so hoping to get out to the ocean for some incredible sunset photos cliffside at Blowing Rocks State Preserve on Jupiter Island. But of course, it is closed due to COVID. So they settled for the next best option, Coral Cove. Then the forecast came in with heavy rain + thunderstorms. [In rainy season, sometimes it doesn’t make much sense to reschedule since it’ll probably be raining on your rescheduled date as well!] So instead, we changed locations again…that morning we decided to zip over to the other side of the state since they had less of a chance for intense weather. But watching the thick cloud cover on our drive to St. Petersburg, we were happy to have brought our umbrellas for the ‘just-in-case.’ At least it was a light enough rain to forge through. These two rolled with all the punches, and jumped out of the car in amazing spirits! Grabbing the umbrellas and taking each other by the hand, they happily and without complaint or disappointment created an extremely fun session. Could there be a better tone to set for your upcoming marriage? We think not! [And yes, it did rain…the. entire. time.]
So here’s proof that an overcast or rainy-day session does not mean your photos will be boring. Muted colors? Most likely. But more likely, they’ll be DREAMY and FUN, just like your love for each other.
Congrats you two - on a perfect engagement and love and upcoming marriage! We can’t wait to be a part of it all!
