Ashley + Tim Reception

Ashley + Tim Reception

After their courthouse nuptials, Ashley + Tim held an intimate brunch reception at Seasons 52 in Palm Beach Gardens. With their guest list including only their closest friends and family, they were able to not just give them each some much appreciated attention, but got to really enjoy everyone’s company. After an incredible meal and some very fun desserts, we all headed to Riverbend Park in Jupiter for some family photos amongst the mossy Oaks and Palmettos that are so very iconic to South Florida.

Congratulations on your marriage A+T, we wish you all the happy years together!

Katherine + Alex ...Kona, Hawai'i!

Katherine + Alex ...Kona, Hawai'i!

In the middle of the Pacific, on a tiny Big Island sits the quaint fishing town of Kailua-Kona. It’s here that Katherine + Alex decided was the perfect spot for their very intimate wedding ceremony. They said their vows on an outcropping of lawn atop a lava rock shoreline, exchanged rings, and were pronounced “husband and wife.” With only their closest family and friends along to witness, they enjoyed a celebratory feast under the stars at their rented coastal private estate.

Shot by team member Jon, were so honored to have been a part of this special day, and to have captured it all. Congratulations K + A, here’s to many many years of love and happiness!

Megan + Cameron ...Kona, Hawai'i!

I tell you what, these two on their wedding day were as laid-back as they are gorgeous. And yep, those little cuties are their twins, who are as cute as they are sweet.

It was just a perfect day on the Big Island of Hawai’i at the Royal Kona Resort with Epic Island Weddings. If you’re able to keep your guest list around 40 people, their Sunset Cove would be my recommendation every time for your reception. It’s the most beautiful, intimate and convenient spot on the island.

ANNA + JOSH ...Kona, Hawai'i!

Anna + Josh…goodness these two have been together since high school! So of course their love was so natural, as if that’s all they’ve ever known. It was the most incredible day to be a part of, such sweet moments of joy and happiness at the Royal Kona Resort on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Our cheeks hurt from so much smiling, and as we walked away at the end of the night, we wondered how we’d be able to portray that sweetness in their film, but in watching the raw footage, we saw that it was easily going to shine through. So enjoy this glimpse into their love story…thanks to Epic Island Weddings for another perfect day!

It has been such a pleasure working with Sara Kauss Photography! Shooting for her and being a part of her team allowed me to be a part of this amazing wedding at the Harbor Beach Marriott in Ft Lauderdale…one of my new favorite venues in South Florida. The views from the rooms, the views from the pool, the views from the ceremony sites, even the views from the ballroom…just spectacular! After prepping in their own suites, the bride and groom took to the deck for their first look…and with her coming out in that dress…better than the ocean view:)

Here’s a sneak peek from the day…and to see more beautiful work from this day and many others, check out SaraKauss.com!

Miranda + Hunter ...Kua Bay, Hawai'i

Miranda + Hunter ...Kua Bay, Hawai'i

Manini'owali Beach (Kua Bay) is a section of Kekahakai State Beach Park.  It's the single most beautiful beach closest to Kailua-Kona that you can get to without having to travel on an unpaved road over lava.  While not a typical wedding beach /as it gets crowded with not only tourists but local beachgoers/ this bay has the spectacularly turquoise blue water that everyone craves to see.  Miranda + Hunter weren't deterred....and while they may have had a few more witnesses than was on their guest list, it was a perfectly beautiful day.  Thanks to the coordinators at Big Island Boutique Weddings, and to Reverend Robert (Kuya) Alamodin for the wonderful ceremony!

KATIE + CHRIS ...Holualoa, Maui!

KATIE + CHRIS ...Holualoa, Maui!

Photographer Hannah is one of our main travelers.  If your nuptials are taking place inter-island, Hannah is our go-to.  She has an incredibly photojournalistic way of shooting, which is perfect for intimate elopements like this one...ones that take place without any friends or family attending...those friends and family who are only able to get a glimpse into the day by way of photography.

"Chris and I just wanted to say thank you so much! Hannah was AWESOME! She was so sweet and helpful in more ways than just a photographer. We were a little worried about getting married without any family or friends with us but Hannah totally filled that void and reassured us both. It was nice to feel like we had someone on our side and it was so helpful to have her helping me get ready!

She showed us some of the photos she took and they are absolutely gorgeous! Although we had switched to the beach, Hannah knew that we really had our hearts set on some pictures in the forest and she went all the way out there with us after the ceremony, mud and all. We are so happy that we chose y'all as our photographer and that we were able to work with Hannah and yourself. Thank you 1000 times again!

With Love,

Katie and Chris"

KATIE + KOLE ...Big Island, Hawai'i!

KATIE + KOLE ...Big Island, Hawai'i!

The Big Island of Hawai'i offers 10 of the world's 13 climate zones, giving so much more to offer than just another beautiful beach.  Kahua Ranch sits on the Kohala mountain range at about 3200 feet above sea level, giving it a fantastic view of the ocean and sunset!  Being from Alaska, Katie + Kole can handle a little chill.  They said their "I do's" under the wedding tree and danced the night away on the barnyard deck.  We had such a great time with their wedding party...it was one of those nights that your cheeks hurt at the end from smiling and laughing so much.  Well worth it and we wish we could do it all again!  A big mahalo to Swept Away Island Weddings + Events for putting on another gorgeous event, to the talented musician Dennis GarciaAinahua Florals for the breathtaking flowers, Hawai'ian officiant Kahu Kaalekahi, DJ Tiger Jones, Big Island Hair + Makeup, Aloha Monday's catering, Pineapple BakeryBig Island Tents and of course Big Island Party Bus.  Congrats Katie + Kole!

RYAN + RYAN

RYAN + RYAN

Yep, Ryan + Ryan! Puts a whole new meaning to the bride taking the groom's name, right?! This couple, this bridal party, the whole guest list actually, were THE MOST FUN. They all were so full of life and happiness and total goofiness, that I'm surprised I was able to get a serious shot in all day...and I wouldn't have had it any other way! Thanks to the Royal Kona Resort for another spectacular event at their Private Lagoon and Ali'i Terrace. And congrats Ryan + Ryan!

ELEANOR + JOHN

ELEANOR + JOHN

Sunset Cove has become such a popular spot for weddings....and with good reason, the name speaks for itself, and it never disappoints!  The sandy beach is situated upon the lava rock shoreline, just off the Big Island's coast at the Royal Kona Resort.  What we usually don't get there, though, is rain.  But Eleanor + John were definitely blessed with the rain's cleansing purity during their ceremony.  Being just a quick shower, they stuck it out anyway, not letting it ruin their day.  We're so glad they did as it turned into a perfect evening.  Congrats to the new Mr. + Mrs!

STACIE + BEN

STACIE + BEN

These two put together the most incredible wedding for their guests, who had traveled from the mainland for Stacie + Ben's nuptials.  Inviting just their closest friends and family, they had reserved two large vacation style homes up mauka (up the mountain) from Kona, in Holualoa on the Big Island of Hawai'i, where they relaxed together all week before watching them wed poolside at the home.  Complete with a private luau show, it was a night to remember!  Mahalo nui loa to Hawai'i Island Weddings for putting together another great event!

MICHELLE + DREW

Tonight's wedding was very intimate and completely gorgeous...Michelle + Drew brought their immediate families along to the Big Island of Hawai'i to watch them take their vows.  Sunset Cove delivered as usual, leaving them with a spectacular view of the Pacific from the heart of our quaint little fishing town, Kona.  Congrats to the newest Mr. + Mrs!

THAO + ZAC

THAO + ZAC

Thao + Zac were wed on the Big Island of Hawai'i.  They chose the Royal Kona Resort and coordinators Ashley + Kayli put together a beautiful + intimate ceremony atop the rocky cliffside at Nohea Point.  There with their families as witness, they committed themselves to each other for all eternity.  This is something that never gets old to be a part of.  Congratulations to the new Mr. + Mrs.!

NIKKI + GLEN

NIKKI + GLEN

One thing is for sure - these two are fans of Disney!  Check out all of the little details incorporating the theme, from shoes to jewelry to the cake topper, even her jewel sash had a flare for Disney....can you find it?  This made for finding so many neat surprises during the day - just like in the theme parks where they have hidden Mickey's all over.

JASON + LAWRENCE

JASON + LAWRENCE

Like most of the couples I capture getting married, I had met Jason + Lawrence just moments before their ceremony.  They walked up to me together and immediately I felt their love for each other.  There was an excitement inside each of them that was radiating out.  /Of course everyone about to get married is happy + in love/ but this was different.  I've witnessed this high level of sheer joy to be around one another only a few times since my own wedding.  It's an excitement that turns all of the plans and details to unimportance because all you want to do is run to your soulmate and just marry them already.  I'm so happy to congratulate them as the new Mr. + Mr!

STACEY + SAM ...trash the dress

STACEY + SAM ...trash the dress

The Queen's Bath at Kiholo Bay made for the most stunning in-water trash the dress session.  Though the water is /near/ FREEZING cold, these two pushed through for the sake of art.  A big thank you to Phil for taking over this session for me as I was just 2 weeks postpartum and unable to get back into the water yet!

STACEY + SAM

STACEY + SAM

Stacey + Sam had an incredible destination wedding in the quaint little chapel at the Sheraton Kona with their closest friends and family in attendance.  Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour poolside at the Kona Plantation Ohana Retreat.  Dinner was served under the stars in the lawn with cake and dancing afterward in the event pavilion.  A big mahalo to coordinator Hannah with Lehua Rose for putting on such a great event!

How to have the perfect elopement:  1/Don't allow any guests.  2/Film the elopement to appease those guests from point 1.  3/Find a beach.  4/Far away.  5/With palm trees.  6/Hold the ceremony at sunset.  7/Plan an intimate dinner on the beach to follow.  8/With a private musician to serenade you.  9/Have a champagne toast.  10/Or drink juice from a pineapple if you're under 21.  11/Enjoy the rest of your elopement vacation-turned honeymoon!

LAUREN + EDDIE

LAUREN + EDDIE

One of my favorite memories from all of these weddings I've been lucky enough to witness were Lauren + Eddie's vows.  They each made personal promises to each other - some were sweet, some were deep and some were lighthearted.  But Lauren didn't stop there.  She brought Eddie's two small children up to the altar and continued on to make promises to them as well, closing with...

"...you may not have my smile or my eyes, but you will always have my heart."
